Description
2 Early 20th Century Quilt Tops includes a c1900 Tumbling Blocks quilt top measuring 78 x 84 inches. It is machine pieced. In good condition with just a few small scuff marks. Along with an c1915 Red and White Fundraising or Wheel Quilt Top, unsigned, measuring 70 x 85 inches. It is machine pieced. It is in fair condition with a few small spots and 2 small holes, and workmanship is primitive. Both textiles are just quilt tops with no batting, backing, or quilting. Both quilt tops were published in “Vintage Quilts” co-authored by Bobbie Aug page 186 and 190. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
