2 Vintage c1940 Uzbek/Afghani Tribal Wall Hangings. The group includes 1 vintage c1940 Uzbek tribal patchwork wall hanging in a grid pattern featuring an array of different vintage fabrics such as ikat, plain and printed cottons, silk, rayon, and brocades. The piece is unlined but portions of the back border are lined in printed cottons. The wall hanging is skillfully pieced yet does not lay completely flat. It measures 43” by 45” and is in fair condition with staining and spots, a few split seams, and the original tabs for hanging are also missing. 1 vintage Uzbek tribal wall hanging featuring a bold geometric pattern in a mix of solid colored cottons, floral printed cottons, ikat, velvet, and striped silk. One of the patchwork areas even has an original stamp from the fabric manufacturer. The piece also has 2 thin borders with multicolored silk hand embroidered patterns. The piece is unlined and has an edge binding of black floral printed cotton and measures 39” wide by 38” high. It is in fair condition with several seams and portions of the binding that have come undone. 1 vintage Uzbek wall hanging featuring a bold geometric pattern in a mix of fabrics such as ikat, raw silk, plain colored cottons, floral printed cottons, striped cottons, and velvet. The blocks in the center also feature multicolored silk embroidery in a geometric border and it still has both original hanging tabs. The piece measures 36” long by 34” high and is in good/fair condition with 1 tear/open seam near the upper left hand side, the piece also does not lay truly flat.
