Description
Antique 1917 Redwork Quilt by the St Paul Lutheran Aid Society, Bowmanville PA. It measures 50 by 72 inches. It is comprised of 35 blocks, 10 by 10 inches, set straight, 5 by 7. It is machine pieced, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied white binding. There is a block in the center that states St. Paul Lutheran Aid Society Bowmanville and Sylvania with a bird. The other blocks feature names with a flower, strawberry, bird, or anchor motif. Names include Rev. BG Welder, Luella Bowman, Laura Bowman, Alvin Bowman, Katie Bowman, Naomia Lessley, Maggie Glass, Jacob Shiffer, Caroline Shiffer, Irene Shiffer, Helen Koch 1917, and many more.
Condition report:
It is in fair condition with storage line discoloration and other spots. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $25 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance.
