Description
2 Vintage Redwork Child Quilts: includes one of the most interesting redwork quilts I have seen. It measures 47 by 73 inches. It appears to have been worked in red silk thread. Motifs include everyday household items like knives, forks, vases, pitchers, brooms and brushes, salt shakers, mixers, baskets, barrels, buckets and much more. It appears the designs are inked. It is machine pieced, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. Along with a 1940s red work tied quilt with solid red sashing, 50 by 61 inches. Machine pieced, hand embroidered, and hand tied in red embroidery floss at the corner of each block. Motifs include birds, animals, figures, flowers and more.
Condition report:
The household items quilt is in poor condition with embroidery loss, storage discoloration, spots, and where newer thread was applied there is some color bleeding. The tied quilt is in fair condition with a few small spots and tiny holes. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance.
