Boldly worked reverse appliqué, appliqué, and hand embroidered mola panel depicting two confronting pelicans with fish, set against a dense red ground and surrounded by stylized floral forms. Executed in three layers of red, black, yellow, and orange cotton, with extensive multicolor embroidered detailing throughout. The composition is fully filled, with interlocking curvilinear forms, serrated feather edges, and scattered dash-work stitching animating every register of the panel.
