Reverse appliqué, appliqué, and hand-embroidered mola panel depicting what appears to be a syncretic interpretation of the moon landing, featuring a large central lunar module form with a domed arched upper chamber enclosing two confronting astronaut figures with white-inlaid eyes, set above a lower body with five splayed landing legs and a central cross-stitch medallion in multicolor cotton, worked in three layers of red, white, and blue cotton. Polychrome appliquéd dash-stitch animates the outer ground throughout. A rare and iconographically significant political mola referencing the Apollo moon landing.
