Description
Antique c1910 Endless Chain Variation Quilt measuring 75 by 84 inches. The quilt is comprised of 30 blocks, 11.5 by 11.5 inches, set straight, 5 by 6, with 15 endless chain variation blocks and 15 solid off white muslin setting squares. There is a 1.75 inch black and white plaid inner border, a 2 inch off white outer border along all 4 sides and a 7 inch a 5.5 inch ice cream cone border along 3 sides, with 4 post bed corners. This is a unique design with the triangular pieces along the sides being pieced with shirting triangles, black and white plaid 60 degree inch diamonds, and red trapezoid shapes coming off the red octagon in the center. This block has a high degree of difficulty level. It is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The scalloped edge is finished with an applied red fabric binding on grain, by hand.
