Worked in three layers of black, red, and orange cotton with extensive polychrome appliqué and hand embroidery throughout, this technically observed mola depicts three large pliers rendered in bold red reverse appliqué outlined in orange and yellow against the black ground. Each plier form is composed of two arching jaw members meeting at a pivot point marked by a concentric circular embroidered element, the jaws filled with dense multicolored parallel embroidered strokes and white zigzag serration suggesting the gripping surface. The handles extend downward as paired prongs with multicolored dash infill. Distributed across the composition among the plier forms are five smaller objects that may represent teeth — each rendered in a contrasting outline color of blue, pink, or green, similarly structured with a rounded crown body, concentric eye element, and bifurcated lower extension. Teardrop-shaped pendant elements punctuate the spaces between forms throughout. The black ground is accented with vertical yellow and orange dash elements. Consistent hand-stitching throughout.
