Worked in three layers of black, red, and orange cotton with extensive polychrome appliqué and hand embroidery throughout, this dynamic zoological mola depicts a large central caiman surrounded by four smaller creatures of varying scale. The dominant central figure is rendered in bold black reverse appliqué outlined in yellow, its elongated body filled with rows of multicolored arch and comb motifs, its open mouth showing embroidered white teeth and a field of multicolored circle embroidery within the gaping jaws, with a white zigzag element suggesting serrated dentition. The long sinuous tail curls upward dramatically behind the body. Four subsidiary figures occupy the corners and lower register, each outlined in a distinct color — green, pink, yellow, and blue — and individually detailed with embroidered eyes, arch body markings, and open mouths with white teeth. The red ground throughout is saturated with vertical polychrome dash elements. Consistent hand-stitching throughout.
