Description
8 Decorated Damask Panels. There are 8 decorated panels in this lot with finished edges. There is a panel which features sailboats on the sea with a warm sunset background. A Baroque inspired damask tapestry weave. The designs are in pink, green, blue, and other colors on a light background. A pastoral tapestry with birds and foliage alongside buildings covered with trees. There are two pieces with the same design. A pink panel with metallic threading and the depiction of flowers and vines. A dark cranberry panel with damask weaving with scroll work, flowers, and birds. A green damask pillowcase with scrollwork and flowers. A large gold toned jacquard panel. It features stripes in red, white, pink, and gray. There is a pattern of flowers along the piece. The pieces show French/European influences and they range from being antique to being vintage. The sizes range from being a little over one foot to having yardage. They are made from silk, wool, cotton, and linen. The edges feature fringe or applied trim. This was part of a NYC Archival Collection of Textiles for reproduction and inspiration purposes.
Condition report:
There is fading, toning, discoloration, small holes, and some small lifting threads which is expected for the age of several. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $20 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
