Description
Antique 1842 Figured and Fancy Coverlet, to be from Allegheny County Pennsylvania. It measures 79 by 97 inches. There is a hand stitched seam down the center. Red and shades of blue wool woven with natural linen. The field features double roses separated by stars and flowers. There is a border on 3 sides with Eagles and trees. The corners have woven H Aitken 1842, I am able to determine a weaver with this name so this was most likely the person that it was woven for. It is in fair condition with fringe loss, toning, and spots.
