2 Vintage c1930 Quilts includes the c1930 Parasol Ladies Quilt measuring 66×79″. Machine pieced (possibly treadle), hand embroidered, and hand quilted. Medium loft cotton batting and a pale yellow reverse. The edge is finished with an applied pale yellow binding. There are whisker guards of plain muslin along the top and the bottom of the quilt. Believed to have come from the Backwoods Plantation of Harrison County, Texas. Along with a 1931 hand embroidered blue work quilt, measuring 59 by 75 inches. There are 34 different embroidered motifs including animals, fruit, vegetables, flowers, figures, and more. It was made by Annie Pennypacker of Bally, Berks County, “Butter Valley”, Pennsylvania, made for her grandson Russell Guinther age 6.


Condition report:

Both are in poor condition. Parasol Ladies has edge wear, fading, large discolorations, and all over scattered spots. And Bluework Quilt has fading, discolorations, and a large hole. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $35 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
