Description
Vintage c1930 African American Chisholm Trail Quilt, 63×82″, made by a field hand’s wife of Backwood’s Plantation, Harrison County, TX. It is comprised of 72 blocks, 8 by 8 inches, set straight, 8 by 9, with 2 to 5 inch feed sack print borders along 3 sides. It is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. Thick cotton batting and a gold and grey floral print reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand.
Condition report:
It is in good condition with a few discolorations and minor fading, and a few seams coming undone. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
