Description
Vintage c1950 African American String Pieced Quilt Top measuring 72×82″. Comprised of 42 blocks, 11 by 11 inches, set straight, 6 by 7, with 3.5″ scrappy rectangular border on 3 sides. It is machine pieced, notes state possibly by a treadle machine. It is just a quilt top with no backing, batting, or quilting, but strips were pieced on a foundation. The top uses a variety of fabrics including cotton satin, gingham, corduroy, damask, linen, wool, and more. Note state that this came from the Backwoods Plantation, Harrison County, Texas.
Condition report:
It is in good condition with some small discolorations, spots, and a couple of small moth bites inner red wool fabric. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy.
