Description
Antique Sampler with Family Tree. This is a sampler that features the family tree of Esther Thomas who was 7 years old while creating this. The piece was completed on November 19, 1846. It features her family record with the first noted one dating back to the 1781 with Samuel Adams and Sara Mishler. The years are scattered around and at the bottom is the alphabet alongside numbers. A house is cross stitched on the bottom. The needlework is very childlike and shows an unsteady hand at several points. There are some age spots that are present. The frame measures 14.5″x17.5″ and the inner area measures 11.5″x14.5″. The glass covering has dropped into the frame.
