Description
2 Vintage Quilts, both are Time Span Quilts. The 9 Patch measures 61 by 63 inches. It is comprised of 81 squares, 5 by 5 inches, set straight, 9 by 9, with 41 9 patch blocks and 40 double pink alternating squares. There is an 8 inch brown floral print border. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse the edge is finished knife edge style by hand. It is hand and machine pieced and hand quilted. I believe the blocks are from about the 1880s and put into a quilt around the 1960s to 1970s. It is in fair condition with fade line discoloration and some wear and spots. There is a label on the reverse that it was part of the Delaware Quilt Documentation Project. Along with a On Point 4 patch measuring 59 by 61 inches in a bars arrangement with each bar measuring about 4 inches wide and alternating with solid blue bars. There is a 4 inch border along all 4 sides. This quilt also uses antique c1880 quilt blocks but was finished in the mid 20th century. It is hand and machine pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a narrow woven stripe reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by machine it is in fair condition with fading and spots. and On Point 4 Patch.
