Description
2 Vintage c1960 Grandmother Flower Garden Quilts. Both have many of the same fabrics, so I believe they were from the same quilter or family. The brown garden path GFG Quilt measures 68 by 82 inches. There are 46 flower rosettes comprised of 7/8 of an inch hexagons. Each rosette has a yellow center, a round of solid, and a round of coordinating print. Several have 2 rounds of coordinating prints. Many of the flowers feature selectively cut or fussy cut motifs. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied brown binding. It is in good condition with fading, a small spot, and edge wear. The red garden path GF G quilt measures 74 by 80. There are 46 flower rosettes comprised of 7/8 of an inch hexagons. Each rosette has a yellow center, a round of solid, and a round of coordinating print. Several have 2 rounds of coordinating prints. Many of the flowers feature selectively cut or fussy cut motifs. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied red binding. It is in poor condition with edge wear, several splitting fabrics, deteriorated fabrics, spots, and fading.
