Antique 19th c. Wedding Dress and Veil. The lot consists of an antique 19th century wedding dress and veil. Featured is an antique short sleeved wedding dress from the late 19th century with a lace sheer outing and a silk lining alongside a flower veil with lace. The veil is now just the buds of the flowers which used to have cloth to accentuate it. The band is a gold thread wrapped around the plastic stems of the buds. The lace is wrapped around on one side of the band and it shows significant toning. The wedding dress is high neck and features a lace collar that extends to the bust of the gown. The lining of the collar is silk and so is the waist belt that has light folding. The torso of the gown displays numerous buds that are attached made from fabric and four large brooches on the chest. The lace collar flaps a bit and the skirt of the dress features a spread of florals across it and one band of appliques lace flowers. There are hook and eye fasteners on the back alongside a waist tie. Laid flat, it has the following measurements: Length: 58″, Waist: 12″, Bust: 16″, Shoulders: 15″. The dress is in poor condition because of its age. There are several holes on the lace and on the lining as well. The lace and silk fabric shows obvious signs of toning die to age. The majority of the original decorations remains on the dress. This is appropriate for recycling and study. Very fragile. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
