Antique c1910 Black Evening Gown. The lot consists of an antique black evening gown. Featured is an antique black evening gown with a lace collar insert. The body of the gown is made from black velvet on the front and back. The torso and bottom of the dress are both an example of skilled beadwork and detail. Strings of black beads and sequins, both of varying shapes and sizes, are sewn together on the body. The sleeves are short and are two layers of beaded machine made lace. The bottom of the gown features the same decorations as the top. At the waist, there is an extended band of fabric with tassels, beads, and sequins applied. At the collar, there is a tiny lace band that occupies the space. Laid flat, it has the following measurements: Length: 54″, Waist: 12″, Bust: 15″, Shoulders: 13″. The dress is in poor condition. There are several spots of discoloration on the skirt of the dress by the waist. The skirt of the train has rips on both sides and several of the beads are loose and several have fallen off. Some of the sequins are missing and same with the beads. Appropriate for recycling or study purposes. Very fragile. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
