Description
Antique c1860 Princess Feather Quilt measuring 93 by 98 inches. It is comprised of 9 blocks, 26 by 26 inches, set straight, 3 by 3. There is a 6 inch red border with white appliqué plumes stars and bud motifs. Each block consists of an 8 feather plume motif with star center and quarter stars in each corner. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and a white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied narrow solid white fabric binding. It is in fair condition with overall toning, spots and wear in the red borders, particularly in the corners. A few small holes in the plumes and the appliqué is lifting in a few areas, too, please see all the photos. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
