Description
An early 20th-century hat, circa 1905, featuring a wire frame covered in blonde and grey interwoven chenille and grey wool braid. The design includes narrow undulating bands of sage green velvet and gold brocade set on the bias. The hat is adorned with a large curled egret feather plume. Accompanying the hat is an Art Nouveau-style hat pin, designed with glazed cabochons and rhinestone accents. In fair condition with uneven fading to the sage velvet accents. Comes in a vintage mid century hat box from Plummer McCutcheon. Previously part of a collection that rented to the entertainment industry. Restoration may have done but with period materials and skilled workmanship. Please see the photos for details. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding.
