Description
a small antique 1880s black straw bonnet, featuring a peaked brim. The bonnet has a woven decorative straw trim along the edge, lined with shirred golden beige silk on the front. An ostrich plume in cream and three black moire ribbon bows embellish the back, with a comb and horsehair braid for attaching. Inner black lining completes the design. In fair condition with fading to the outer brim and toning to the ostrich plume. Previously part of a collection that rented to the entertainment industry. Restoration may have done but with period materials and skilled workmanship. Please see the photos for details. If you have any questions, please ask before bidding.
