Description
Vintage c1940 Pansy Spray Kit Quilt by Progress, measuring 74 by 89 inches. Bouquet of five large pansies and sprays of other flowers in a medallion with a scalloped edge. Individual pansy blossoms form ring around the medallion with smaller sprays of one pansy, buds, and small blue flowers on each corner. There is one large pansy on each side of medallion, with smaller blooms between. It is hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, and hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The scalloped edge is finished with and applied blue bias fabric binding. It is in good condition with overall toning, age discoloration, small spots, and watermarks. The quilt is sturdy and will withstand a gentle soak to brighten and bring back to it’s original beauty.
