Description
Vintage Bicentennial Medallion Quilt measuring 84×102″. Blue center with 5 white appliqued stars and the dates 1776 and 1976 formed in small red white and blue stars. There is a triple border in red, white, and red, with blue cornerstones with white stars. It is machine pieced, hand embellished, machine appliquéd, and hand quilted. There is polyester batting and a white solid reverse. The edge is finished with a red, white, and blue triangular prairie point treatment. It is in very good condition with just a few small spots. This quilt was published, page 172, in “Quilts Presidential and Patriotic” by Sue Reich, noted author, historian, and quilt appraiser.
