Description
Vintage Bicentennial Liberty Bell and Eagle Quilt Measuring 76 by 90 inches. It is comprised of 30 blocks, 11.5 by 12 inches, set straight, 5 by 6, with 3 inch red sashing, and cornerstones, and 3.5″ red border. Each white block is hand appliquéd with a red polyester double knit Eagle and blue USA, with alternating blue polyester double knit Liberty Bell with 1776 to 1976 in red. It is hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, machine pieced, and hand quilted. There is polyester batting and a red solid reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. It is in good condition with just a few small marks. This quilt was published, page 170 , in “Quilts Presidential and Patriotic” by Sue Reich, noted author, historian, and quilt appraiser.
