Description
Pair of 19th Century Parasols. The pairing includes 2, 19th century small parasols. Featuring 1 petite parasol with a formally pink cotton canopy with a ruffled flounce which has since faded to a beige color. It has a simple squared wood handle and still opens and closes easily. It measures: open canopy: 16” x 16”, length: 23”. It is in fair condition with heavy fading and toning to the canopy and light rust to the metal ribs. Also included is 1, 19th century petite black folding parasol. Featuring a black silk canopy with zigzag ruffled flounce and scalloped pinked edges. The underside of the canopy is also covered in black silk. It has a hinged folding post ending in a twisting black painted wooden handle. The hinge that allows it to fold has a moveable brass sleeve that locks it into place. It measures: open canopy: 17” x 17”, length open 27”. folded length 15”. It is in fair/poor condition with overall signs of wear. As well as the canopy beginning to shatter and fray. Please see the photos. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
