Description
Late 19th Century Nightgown and Lace Mantle. The pairing includes a late 19th century nightgown and lace mantle. Featuring 1 fine cotton sleeveless nightgown with a V front neckline with a keyhole and a square back neckline trimmed with a floral scalloped crochet lace, the straps are also made of crochet lace. There are also tiny vertical pick up accents near the crocheted straps and at the back, the hem is hand finished. Laying flat it measures: bust 23” , length 49.5”. It is in fair condition with overall toning and spots. Also included is 1 heavily embellished ecru lace mantle featuring a mix of faux pearls, cut steel beads, gold tone metal spangles, and metallic lace in wavy floral patterns. The mantle terminates at points at the front and back. Laying flat it measures:17” wide, front length:15”, back length: 17”. It is in fair condition with some toning, wear to the faux pearls, and wear and tarnishing to the metallic lace. There is also a slight metallic odor. Please see the photos.
