Description
19th Century Maharaja Era Green Velvet Coat. The lot includes 1, 19th century Maharaja Era bright green velvet coat covered in metallic ribbon trim, metallic braid, soutache embroidery, cut steel beads, gold tone sequins, silver spangles, and metallic covered buttons. The coat is lined in tan cotton chintz and has hook and eye closures. Laying flat the coat measures: shoulders 12.5”, bust 15.5”, waist 14”, sleeves 21”, length 38”. The piece is in fair condition with tarnishing to the metallic elements, staining in the underarms, a tear in tone underarm with a conservation effort on the other, missing buttons, bald patches in the velvet pile, and loose metallic cording.
