Description
Antique c1870 Coxcomb and Currants Quilt Measuring 88 x 87 inches. It is comprised of 9 blocks, 20 by 20 inches, set straight, 3 by 3, with a 14 inch appliquéd border on all 4 sides. It is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted. It is very densely hand quilted. There is thin cotton batting and off white cotton reverse. There is applied gray fabric binding applied by hand. It is in fair condition with 2 small holes in the center, overall toning, and spots. Provenance for the quilt indicates it came from Ron Howard estate in Connecticut.
