Antique & Vintage Quilt Collection of Bobbie Aug
Lot 169:
Description
Bobbie Aug Antique Fabric Reference Books 5-8. Bobbie offered antique fabric dating classes in Paducah, KY for many years. I believe these may have been used for that purpose, her books, and for her own personal study. Many of the pages have dates, and other details. I think some information may need to be updated based on recent research, but much of it still stands correct today. Book 5 is marked 1850-1875 and has 3 pages with blocks and fabric. Book 6 has 8 pages of fabrics and blocks with mourning prints, shirtings, neons and more, many pages have multiple pieces. Book 7 is marked Specific Samples and includes 9 pages of fabrics and blocked with conversational prints, garibaldi reds, and more. Many having more than one sample. And book 8 is marked 1875 and includes 15 pages of shirtings, double pinks, mourning prints, browns, a conversational print and more. Many pages have more than one sample. In overall good condition. We are happy to remove the plastic sleeves from the binders to reduce shipping. With Binders shipping is $40, without the binders $20. No discount on shipping to combine these with the binders. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
