Antique & Vintage Quilt Collection of Bobbie Aug
Lot 168:
Description
Bobbie Aug Antique Fabric Reference Books 1-4. Bobbie offered antique fabric dating classes in Paducah, KY for many years. I believe these may have been used for that purpose, her books, and for her own personal study. Many of the pages have dates, and other details. I think some information may need to be updated based on recent research, but much of it still stands correct today. Book 1 is marked 1925 and just includes 3 quilt blocks as samples. Book 2 in marked 1800-1850 and includes 22 pages with quilt blocks and small fabrics for dating and dye samples. Many pages have more than one block or fabric. Book 3 is marked 1900 and includes 9 pages with redwork, cheater prints, and other blocks and fabric for dating and dye identification. And book 4 is marked 1850-1875 and includes 12 pages and 3 loose Centennial print fabrics. One page has several double blue prints. Other pages have multiple fabrics and blocks. All in overall good condition. We are happy to remove the plastic sleeves from the binders to reduce shipping. With Binders shipping is $40, without the binders $20. No discount on shipping to combine these with the binders. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
