Group of 6 Contemporary Christmas Art and Mini Quilts. The group includes 6 Christmas themed art quilts either made by or from the Bobbie Aug collection. Featuring 1 Christmas art quilt by Gwendolyn Davis Oberg as a gift for Bobbie Aug in Colorado Springs, CO in 1991. With 6 hand appliqued and quilted blocks with holly, pine trees, wreaths and more. As well as holly leaf corner blocks. The piece is hand quilted and hand pieced with a poly batting. It measures 14 1/4” x 18” and has 2 attached rings for hanging. In good condition. 1 pine tree on a mountain art quilt made by Helen Borene from Lakewood, CO on 9/14/1988. It features an ombre fade of tans, blues, and greens in mixed printed cottons. It is machine pieced and machine quilted with a poly batting. It measures 22.5” x 20” and has an attached sleeve for hanging. It is in fair condition with several dark spots. 1 Christmas themed art quilt made by Bobbie Aug featuring 6 red, black, and white blocks with iron on appliqued primitive angels with hand embroidered accents and a red border. It is hand quilted and machine pieced with a poly batting. It measures 16.5” x 22” and is signed by Bobbie. In good condition. 1 Christmas themed Log Cabin art quilt made by Darlene Edwards of Colorado Springs, CO Christmas 1992. Featuring 12 Log Cabin blocks with purple and red borders. It is machine pieced and machine quilted with a thin poly batting. It measures 15.5” x 19.5”and has an attached sleeve for hanging. It is also signed by Bobbie Aug and is in good condition. 1 small Christmas themed art quilt featuring a Christmas tree made from yoyo’s with antique button, raffia bow, fabric bow, and wooden star accents with a Noah’s ark themed border. The piece is machine quilted and the yoyo’s are hot glued on. The piece measures 12 3/4” x 13.5” and is signed by Bobbie Aug. In good condition. 1 Christmas themed art quilt featuring a Christmas tree made of ornament blocks. It is machine pieced and machine quilted with a thin poly batting. It measures 19” x 23 3/4” and has an attached sleeve for hanging. The piece is unsigned and in good condition. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
