Group of 4 Animal Themed Art and Mini Quilts. The group featured 4 quilts from the Bobbie Aug collection. Including 1 cat themed art quilt with iron on appliques made by Bobbi Aug 10/17/2010. It is machine pieced and machine quilted with a poly batting. The back has a list of 10 reasons to own a cat. The piece is signed by Bobbi Aug 2014 and measures 18” x 24”. It is in good condition with 1-2 small spots on the back. 1 hand embroidered, cross stitch animal sampler art quilt. With a large inset with multicolored animals and plants on a black ground and 3 borders in white, purple, and black. It is machine pieced and has no batting or quilting. It measures 22” x 25 3/4” and is in good condition. 1 Indigo Butterfly art quilt made by Margery O. Hedges from Kingwood, Texas in 2011. Featuring a large butterfly on a beige ground, the quilt is made entirely of cotton batiks. It is machine pieced and quilted and has a thin poly batting. It measures 20.5” x 20” and is in good condition. 1 vintage mola or shirt panel made by the Guna people of Panama and Columbia featuring colorful reverse applique work and hand embroidered accents on a bat-like anthropomorphic figure squatting in multiple colorful shades on a black ground. These motifs were inspired by the patterns the Guna women would paint on their bodies. It measures 17.5” x 15.5” and is in good condition. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
