Description
2 Vintage Tied Comfort Quilts including c1950 Flannel Plaid Squares arranged in bars, measuring 62×81″. It is machine pieced and hand tied with red and pink yarn. There is a light weight blanket the center for batting and a blue striped reverse. It is in fair condition with several small holes, one fabric is torn, and a few ties missing. Along with a c1910 workman’s cot sized comfort made of wool rectangles, possibly salesman samples. It measures 26 1/2 by 68 inches. It is machine pieced. There is no batting. The edge is finished knife edge style by hand. It is in good condition. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
