2 Vintage c1930 Crib Quilts includes a c1930 Dresden Plate Quilt with Ice Cream Cone Border, 50×50″, hand pieced, hand appliqued, hand quilted, thin batting, off white cotton reverse. In good condition, only very small spots. This quilt can be seen on page 53 of “Antique Quilts & Textiles” co-authored by Bobby Aug. Along with a c1950 Ferris Wheel or Bride’s Bouquet Crib Quilt, 37×41″, Very complex pattern and rare for this scale! It is hand and machine pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a fun novelty or juvenile print with Panda Bears on the reverse. The edge is finished knife edge style, by machine in zigzag stitch. In very good condition with only tiny spots. This quilt can be seen on page 163 of “Vintage Quilts ” co-authored by Bobby Aug. Both have sleeves attached, for hanging. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
