Description
vintage c1940 Double Wedding Ring Quilt- Embroidered measuring 74×92″. The Wedding Rings are hand embroidered on a white ground. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and solid yellow reverse. The edge is finished knife edge style, by hand. In is in very good condition. The book says it is signed Ivy M Renner, North Hampton, PA, but I am unable to find that on the quilt. There is a sleeve for hanging attached to the back along the top of the quilt. This quilt can be seen on page 25 of “Antique Quilts & Textiles” co-authored by Bobby Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
