Description
Vintage c1950 Double Wedding Ring Quilt with Baptist Fan quilting, measures 76×88″. Comprised of 20 interlocking rings, 24.5″ in diameter, set straight, 4 by 5. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. It is in good condition with a few small marks. Edge is finished with a facing of pink fabric. There is a sleeve for hanging attached to the back along the top of the quilt. This quilt can be seen on page 23 of “Antique Quilts & Textiles” co-authored by Bobby Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
