Description
Vintage c1940s Double Wedding Ring Quilt – Blue. Measures 70″ x 84″, comprised of 30 interlocking rings 19.5″ in diameter, set straight, 5×6. Each intersection has a 4 patch with a blue & white dot and red& white gingham. The rings are set in a solid blue ground. It is hand pieced and hand quilted, there is a thin cotton batting with a blue solid reverse. The edge is finished with an applied blue binding. It is in good condition with few small discolorations. The quilt has a nice variety of 1930s and 1940s feed sack and feed sack style prints. It is in very good condition with no issues noted. There is a sleeve for hanging attached to the back along the top of the quilt and signed by Bobbie Aug. There is a sleeve on the back for hanging signed by Bobbie Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
