Description
Vintage c1940s Double Wedding Ring – Purple. Measures 76″ x 90″, it comprised of 31 rings, staggered, rings measure 16.5″ diameter. This has a purple and purple print at each intersection. There is a 4″ solid purple scalloped border on all 4 sides. It is hand and machine pieced and hand quilted. There is no batting and has an off-white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with purple bias tape. The quilt has a nice variety of 1930s and 1940s feed sack and feed sack style prints. It is in very good condition with no issues noted. There is a sleeve for hanging attached to the back along the top of the quilt and signed by Bobbie Aug. This quilt can be seen on page 24 of “Antique Quilts & Textiles” co-authored by Bobby Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
