Description
Vintage c1930 Double Wedding Ring Quilt – Pink. Measuring 72″ x 90″. It is comprised of 20 interlocking rings about 23″ in diameter, set straight, 4 x 5. Each intersection has a 4 patch in pink and white, with pink football shaped ground. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. It has thin cotton batting and an off-white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied white bias tape binding. The quilt has a nice variety of 1930s and 1940s feed sack and feed sack style prints. It is in good condition with just a few prints fading. There is a sleeve for hanging attached to the back along the top of the quilt and signed by Bobbie Aug. This quilt can be seen on page 24 of “Antique Quilts & Textiles” co-authored by Bobby Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter’s Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
