Description
Includes an Antique c1900 Double X Quilt, possibly finished in the 1940s, measuring 68 x 75 inches. Comprised of 42 blocks, 7.5 x 7.5 inches, set straight, 6 by 7, with 3.5″ red print sashing. There is a 3.25 inch border along one side. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. There is a pink gingham reverse and medium loft cotton batting. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. It is in fair condition with several small spots, fade line down the center, a long with and a tear in the center. Along with a c1900 Turkey Red and Shirting Streak or Lightning quilt, which may have been finished later, measuring 89 x 94 inches. Comprised of 6.5 by 3 inch rectangles, alternating fabrics and staggered at each row to create the streak of lightening pattern. There is a 1.5 inch red solid inner border, followed by a 2.5 inch white border, followed by 4.5 Inch red outer border. It is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. There is a red solid reverse and a medium loft cotton batting. The edge is finished and a red bias tape binding by machine to front, hand to fit hand to back. It is in fair condition with storage line fading, small spots, and a small split seam by the border. From a Wisconsin Collector. If you have any doubt, please ask questions!
