Description
Antique c1870 Strippy or Bars Quilt measuring 75 by 89 inches. The center is comprised of 7.5 inch bars of double pink and a Dolly Varden floral print. The 2 outer sides feature a 4 inch square border of off white and brown print; a 3.5″ half square triangle with fugitive purple and pink prints; and a 2.5 inch scrappy rectangular border of brown and pink prints; followed by a 2.5 inch border of double pink print on one side. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with a brown stripe print applied binding, by hand. Many of the brown prints I believe were originally purple and have gone fugitive.
Condition report:
It is in good condition with several spots and discolorations. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance.
