Description
Antique c1870 Log Cabin Quilt – On Point Barn Raising measuring 80×80″. It is comprised of 40 Log Cabin blocks, 11.5 by 11.5 inches, set on point and staggered, with partial block setting triangles. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a blue and gray print reverse. The edge is finished with an applied solid red fabric binding. I had not seen a log cabin quilt with its blocks set on point before, it is a nice variation from the typical barn raising pattern. The quilter also took time to specialty cut several of the stripe and print fabrics for the log. Believed to be from Pennsylvania.
Condition report:
It is in fair condition with stripe fabric splitting in several logs and overall edge wear. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $30 is a domestic shipping estimate for first quilt and includes insurance.
