Group of five hand-made fabric folk dolls representing several distinct traditions. The group comprises a large stuffed-cloth female doll with embroidered features, human-hair coiffure, coin-and-bead nose and ear ornaments, pink floral dress with lace trim, and green knit leggings, in the manner of a Guatemalan or southern Mexican ceremonial doll (13.5″); a Florida Seminole palmetto-fiber doll with stitched features, seed-bead collar, red and green bead earrings, and pieced patchwork skirt in traditional bands of orange, tan, blue, and green (4.25 “); a Mexican campesino male doll with woven straw sombrero, red kerchief, pink shirt with corn-husk sleeves, striped trousers, and a strapped bundle of corn-husk firewood and gourds across the back, mounted on a wood base (6.75″); and a pair of small stuffed-cloth folk dolls with embroidered faces, tall cylindrical headdresses, and layered dresses of silk, metallic gauze, and printed cotton, in the manner of Guatemalan or Mexican marketplace dolls (6”).
