Description
Antique Mise-en-Carte – Red and Orange Flower Bundles. It is 28″x56″. There are blue and orange flowers and then yellow ovals with arches inside of them. Small red flowers are a decoration. Hand painted gouache. Appears to be in 8 sections to create the design. Pencil writing on the reverse. Believed to be French. Pattern for weaving textiles such as jacquards, brocades, and tapestries. In poor condition and fragile. Split seams and brittle edges. There are several holes in the center and dark marks. Minor fading. These were found rolled for an extended period of time. They were relaxed with gentle humidity and mechanical means. We will ship either flat or rolled and buyer will pay actual shipping. Please contact us for a shipping estimate if needed.
