Description
Antique Mise-en-Carte – Red Figural. It is 44.5″x44″. There is a woman with a headdress on a donkey holding an axe with a crescent moon and a star on it. Next to her is a man with a fez on and Islamic buildings in the background. The edges are ripped and some parts are missing. Foxing, age discoloration, rips at the sections, and fading are visible. There are some holes from missing areas. Similar designs are from Italy and Persia. January 11, 1899 is written on the reverse. The sections are fragile and there are some pieces of tape. In poor condition and fragile. These were found rolled for an extended period of time. They were relaxed with gentle humidity and mechanical means. We will ship either flat or rolled and buyer will pay actual shipping. Please contact us for a shipping estimate if needed. We will combine with other patterns when possible.
