Description
6 Antique Doll Quilts. A Variable Star 9 Patch doll quilt. The layout is from the mid 1800s. The piecing was done by hand and there is no quilting despite the batting. The print used on the back is also the binding. It is 14″x14″. There is toning and some spots. A scrap doll quilt which is 7″x15″. Dye has bled and there is fading as well. A Crazy Quilt which is 9″x12″ with 2″ crochet edges. The quilt is doll size but was possibly not a doll quilt. It was most likely used as a doily or trim in the parlor. Fabric has ripped and there is toning. A Strip Doll Quilt which is 8″x10.25″. It is c1800-1850. There is overdyed green on the green print and a brown pinstripe with a brown/tan mix between the stripes. The backing has a fine tan and brown check. It is hand pieced with batting. The backing is rolled to the front for binding. No quilting and no machine stitching. Toning can be seen alongside some spots, fraying, spots on the back, and pinholes. A scrap doll quilt with calico prints, indigo blue, double pink, and fugitive green. It is 6″x11″ and there is toning and spots. A Straight Furrows Log Cabin quilt top which is 8″x12″. There are double pinks, gingham, chintz, and calico.
