Description
These are three polyester scarves made in Italy for the Consorzio per la Tutela del Palio di Siena or the Consortium for the Protection of the Palio of Siena. The Palio is a historic horse race and festival held in Siena, Italy with roots that goes back to medieval tradition. The three scarves represents participating contrade or city district. There is a red, black, and white scarf with the Contrada della Civetta or little owl. There is a crowned owl with the initials UM surrounding it which stands for Umberto I and Margherita of Savoy. Some areas where threads were loose, some spots, and some loose threads. Also included is a green, white, and red polyester scarf made in Italy with a white goose. This was made for the Noble District of the Oca (goose). There is a white goose at the center wearing a blue ribbon around its neck that is marked with the Cross of Savoy. There are various coats of arms present and the word Libertas in a blue shield. It is in good condition. Also included is a blue and yellow-gold scarf with a tortoise at the center. It is a Turbanti Fabio Siena Rega scarf featuring the Tartuca (tortoise) contrada symbol. The tortoise is on a golden field surrounded by daisies and Savoy knots. There is some slight wear along the left side and pinched threads. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $20 is a domestic shipping estimate for the first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy. Each additional lot we can pack in the same box is $5-10 each.
