Description
Vintage Navajo turquoise and shell heishi jacla necklace. The cord is handwoven and there are three strands of turquoise stones with white shell heishi in between. It features joclas with turquoise discs, coral accents, and white shell pendants. Joclas is the Navajo word for ear string and these pieces were often tied to the bottom of the necklaces for safe keeping. The necklace is from about 40 or 50 years ago and it is in good condition. The necklace measures 16″ laid flat and not including the joclas. The joclas are 6″ from bottom to the knot. There is a light layer of dust and debris which can be wiped off and removed with enough care and attention. Also included is a beaded cuff or band that is possibly from a Native American Plains tribe. It is a beaded band in white and red with a black beaded trim. There are geometrics in red along the band and it was threaded together in one area to keep it closed. Laid flat, it is 11″. In house Flat Rate Shipping of $20 is a domestic shipping estimate for the first lot and includes insurance. We will gladly combine multiple lots for your convenience and economy. Each additional lot we can pack in the same box is $5-10 each.
