An impressive mola panel worked in 4 layers with reverse appliqué, appliqué, and embroidery featuring two mirrored spiritual figures with outstretched arms in a symmetrical composition. Each figure displays a stylized face, elongated body with geometric patterning, and splayed hands and feet, surrounded by radiating concentric layers creating a dynamic butterfly or spiritual presence effect.
The figure’s limbs and wings show intricate parallel line work in multiple colors against black grounds. The figures demonstrate strong bilateral symmetry with precise geometric borders framing the lower register. The composition suggests spiritual or mythological significance, possibly representing Guna cosmological beings or protective spirits.
Worked on brilliant orange ground with layers in burgundy, pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, and black. Exceptionally fine hand-stitching throughout with very tight stitch density. Fully filled composition with sophisticated cutwork featuring complex curves, nested shapes, and radiating concentric bands. Elaborate embroidered details enhance the limbs and decorative elements.
